Government Funded Tuition
In response to the disruption to education as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the Government is providing additional funds to state maintained schools, including a Catch-up Premium to schools generally, as well as more targeted funding programmes for 5 to 16-year-olds and for 16 to 19-year-olds.
Further funding for disadvantaged 16 to 19-year-old students is being provided to schools through the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). The funding will be provided to schools to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from the coronavirus pandemic through small group tuition. It will primarily be aimed at students who did not achieve a grade 4 (and some who have just achieved a grade 4) in Mathematics and/or English.
